About the Journal

Inteligencia Artificial is an international Open Access Journal, promoted and sponsored by the Iberoamerican Society of Artificial Intelligence (IBERAMIA), e-ISSN:1988-3064 (print ISSN: 1137-3601). ISSN database.

Focus and Scope

The journal publishes high-quality original research papers reporting theoretical or applied advances in all branches of Artificial Intelligence.  Particularly, the Journal welcomes:

  • New approaches, techniques or methods to solve AI problems, which should include demonstrations of effectiveness oor improvement over existing methods. These demonstrations must be reproducible.
  • Integration of different technologies or approaches to solve wide problems or belonging different areas.
  • AI applications, which should describe in detail the problem or the scenario and the proposed solution, emphasizing its novelty and present a evaluation of the AI techniques that are applied.

In addition to rapid publication and dissemination of unsolicited contributions, the journal is also committed to producing monographs, surveys or special issues on topics, methods or techniques of special relevance to the AI community.

Inteligencia Artificial welcomes submissions written in English, Spaninsh or Portuguese. But at least, a title, summary and keywords in english should be included in each contribution.

Double-Bind Peer Review Process

All papers received and appropriate to the scope of the journal will undergo a double-blind peer review process with at least two anonymous reviewers. The journal is committed to maintaining the highest level of integrity in the content published.

Biannual Publication Frequency

Inteligencia Artificial publishes two issues per year. However, the journal publishes articles on line as they are accepted, without necessarily waiting for a number to be completed.

Open Access Policy. No fees for authors nor readers, free publication

Inteligencia Artificial is an Open Access Journal and provides immediate full open access to all its contents, under the principle that publication and free access to research papers promote a greater exchange of knowledge.  The journal uses Open Journal Systems, which is open source journal management and publishing software developed, supported, and freely distributed by the Public Knowledge Project.

There are no fees for subscription, publication nor editing tasks. The journal does not charge authors, readers nor their institutions for free access to all its contents. Unrestricted Reuse in Compliance with BOAI.

Copyrights. Rights and License.

All accepted submissions will be published under the CreativeCommons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC). It permits use, sharing, adaptation, distribution and reproduction in any medium or format, as long as you give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and the source, provide a link to the Creative Commons license, and indicate if changes were made. The images or other third party material in each article are included in the article’s Creative Commons license, unless indicated otherwise in a credit line to the material. If material is not included in the article’s Creative Commons license and your intended use is not permitted by statutory regulation or exceeds the permitted use, you will need to obtain permission directly from the copyright holder.

Authors accept publication of submitted papers by IBERAMIA, both electronically (with free open access) and in print, as well as dissemination through any other media or entities with which IBERAMIA may establish agreement, transferring IBERAMIA all the necessary rights, particularly its distribution under the open access policy.

The author(s) and copyright holder(s) grant(s) to all users a free, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual right of access to, and a license to copy, use, distribute, transmit and display the work publicly and to make and distribute derivative works, in any digital medium for any responsible purpose, subject to proper attribution of authorship, as well as the right to make small numbers of printed copies for their personal use. The author(s) and copyright holder(s) waive(s) his/ her/ their right to collect royalties relative to the article in respect of any use of the article by this Journal or its sublicensee.The authors (and related entities) transfer to IBERAMIA all the necessary copyrights.

All articles published in the journal are subject to author's copyright. Particularly, authors retain the following rights: Copyright, and other proprietary rights relating to the article, such as patent rights; the right to use the substance of the article in own future works, including lectures and books; the right to reproduce the article for own purposes; the right to self-archive the article; and the right to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the article's published version (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal. If other authors jointly prepared the article, the corresponding author of the paper warrants that all co-authors have authorized him/her

Ethical Staments

The journal is committed to the highest standards of academic and ethical judgment and publishing practices. The journal agrees and encourages authors to follow the ethical recommendations and standards at the Committee on Publication Ethics, (COPE, publicationethics.org), relating them to all parties involved in the editorial process (authors, editors and peer reviewers).

Ethical Statements for authors. With the submission of the manuscript, the authors state that:

  • The manuscript in part or in full has not been published or submitted for publication anywhere. It will not be submitted elsewhere until the editorial process is completed.
  • The authors ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. If any part of the manuscript contains previously published content (dataset, figures, etc.), authors should ensure the necessary copyrights or submit a statement of permission to reproduce the material signed by the author(s) and publishers concerned.
  • Al authors have been personally and actively involved in substantive work leading to the manuscript, and will hold themselves jointly and individually responsible for its content.
  • The corresponding author should ensure that all the authors mentioned in the manuscript have agreed for authorship, read and approved the manuscript, and given consent for submission and subsequent publication of the manuscript.
  • All authors guarantee that their submitted work contains no matter that can be construed as libellous or as infringing in any way on the copyright of another party.
  • If applicable, an appropriate acknowledgement regarding the source of funding is recommended in the acknowlwdge section of the paper.

Ethical issues for Editor and peer reviewers:

  • Editor and peer reviewers will evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
  • All submissions will be treated in strict confidence until the publication date. Editor and peer reviewers must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, other reviewers or potential reviewers, as appropriate.
  • Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer's own research without the express written consent of the author

Plagiarism Policy

In the review and editing process, the journal will check plagiarism for all the articles before publication. If the plagiarism content is observed by editors or peer reviewers will be informed to the author to rewrite the manuscript. We reserves the right to use plagiarism detecting software to screen submitted papers at all times; as well as falsification (manipulation of existing research data, tables, or images). In any case, if the submitted manuscript is then the article will be rejected and the same will be notified to the author.

Indexing and Download Statistics

The journal is indexed or abstracted in several abstract and citation databases. The journal also provides automatically updated download statistics for each article.

Privacy Statement

Names and email addresses submitted to this journal will be used exclusively for the declared purposes, and will not be made available to any other person or for any other purposes. See the  Privacy and Cookies Policy of Iberamia (editor of this journal)

Editorial History

Inteligencia Artificial was founded by the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (AEPIA) in 1997. Since 2012, the journal is published by the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Inteligencia Artificial IBERAMIA (ISSN Record).
